I'm checking out the Mittani dot com and it is such a refreshing gale force of sweet summer wind after the endless speculative crap that are some of the other outlets. Have people checked out this site and are they enjoying it? |

Nope though I guess my unabashed fan boy exuberance might give that impression. I just thought it was a great site. I usually spend some time while bored at the old work desk checking out the meta game sites and so on and it was getting really bad. It's nice to see a great game resource and just wondering how others felt about it. |

I'm sure it would be easier and more to the point for me to simply apply if that was my intention. That is really funny. Oh' and it's with a "C." |

It's not that bad, but its far from being the best one. Of course, those other guys (all CSM, by the way) don't have a massive number of brown nosers making alt-posts talking about their sites.
There is a difference between a blog and a news clearing house. While I am always checking out new blogs when they come to my attention I wonder if more people would know about them if those who liked them (maybe insert yourself here) used this wonderful resource (the forums) to advertise them. I'll check those out now.
Since this is obviously a main (whatever that means) and not some nameless Mittani loving little bee alt, the nonsense insinuation of brownnosing is just foolish.
Thanks again for the heads up on those blogs :) |

Again thanks for the heads up on these and people should check them out. Seleene's especially. They are not news sites however and do not have the same general flow of everyday updates and or information. |

They are not news sites however and do not have the same general flow of everyday updates and or information. Well, they are news site. But like i said they don't cover EVE politics. They cover EVE development updates and ongoing balance, which is hard to post about every single day. And that they do better than EN24 or Mittens site, so if that's what you're looking for then there you go. If you're looking for political updates, you shouldn't rely on just one site/blog for them either. Like i said, any and all political news outlet is moderatly biased at best, and more often than not just a propaganda machine for one or other side. In my experience the best place to gather "political updates" are these forums. Note that i said "best", and not "perfect".
I think what I mean by a news site is something that is presenting the everyday information about what is happening in Eve, among the players. I'm just hoping that The Mittani site helps to justify other sites or just other outlets from other perspectives. Eve24 has just become too much of an unreliable flame fest. Though with competition perhaps it will right the ship and get back to reporting. I love reading the forums but you have to slog through a lot of "giggle giggle trolling."
My fantasy is that Eve could somehow link the Incarna CQ screens with some form of a real time player broadcast network. That would be brilliant. |

The interesting thing about Jon Stewart is that they are actually doing a lot of the things that the mainstream news used to do. They are pointing out hypocrisy, fallacies and the blatant idiocy absent from the reporting of many of the 24 hour news cycle outlets. It's a sad comment on the mainstream news that the comedy news is usually more on point. |

Pretty witty! I like it. Have you checked out the site or do you know of any others that people should check out to increase their metagaming enjoyment? |

I see a forum where everyone gets the ban they want... oh' wait, nope. Nothing there everything is banned. If you hate the material being discusses why not move onto another thread?

It looks as if my joy as a player at finding a new resource to take up my time while wandering through the intertubes has pulled out some very funny responses. I must start buying stock in virtual tinfoil companies. That said, I must be really bad at searching or the hyperbole over the number of times the Mittani.com has been "pushed," on the forums is just that, knee jerk hyperbole. I wonder why it is so hard for so many players to discuss something with an easy exchange of information and maybe facts (if applicable)?
If you don't like it don't read it. Don't have a real opinion, no reason to make up one. And I wonder why the Goons are stomping the rest of Eve.
But as an "alt," of some nameless Goon I should keep the answer to that question to myself. :) |

None are willing - James 315 is literally the only highsec-based writer we have. What self respecting citizen of highsec space would want his or her identity attached to a Goon run news source? James315 may be highsec based but he is hardly a representative of the highsec community, as I'm sure many posts have made clear.
This is so arrogant. Who made you the arbitrator of the hisec community? James315 lives in hisec. He ganks and extorts in hisec. He has written a novel on his views pertaining to industry in hisec. He lives, *****, lies and steals in hisec. A huge portion of hisec does the same so how is he not a representative of the the hisec pov? Wow.
Hisec is not just the afk carebear. It is not just the mission runner. This is the arrogance that makes getting any type of unified hisec behavior or goals going a complete pain in the ass.

How can you say that someone who wants to see highsec nerfed into the ground and has written a manifesto on how to cause optimal grief for industrialists and casuals is representative of anything but sadomasochism? Mars Theran wrote:All that really means is that he is representative of a portion of the highsec player base. Not even a large portion if I'm not mistaken, given there are more people ganked than ganking last I checked. Exactly, mere observation of demographical forum posting speaks for itself. I tried to start my EVE career as a non "carebear" but man some people just put the ick in prick.
This is splitting hairs here. He's a representative of the hisec voice. If you think there is another voice that needs to be heard, make it heard. I'm not saying he's right; at best he amuses me with his role-playing. It's fun but at times it is also a bit out of hand and slips into bombastic bullying. However Hisec is not just industrialists and miners. I think hisec participants have to accept that gankers, ninjas, wardeccers etc.. are all part of that family.
But I digress. The entire point of this thread was that I thought Mittani.com was a good addition to the overall voices in the metagame. The news realm in particular which has been held hostage to EN24's biased ranting as of late. Most of what I've heard in response is "gross it's a goon!" Pathetic. Overall Goons are pretty damn low on the list of threats to hisec.
Moving on.
